View From My Window:

When I look out my window, especially in the evening I can see the Kill Van Kull where container ships come in and out. I see a million bright lights in red and green as well as gold from the steamship companies.

Sometimes when I sleep I am awakened by the tune of a boat coming into the Kull and jump up to see it. I can tell it is moving by the lights passing. It is a restful sight as I worked in shipping for 40 years.

In the day, I watch the trees bending in the wind over the little church and also see the birds fly by. I see the clouds drifting by and in the winter the sunset is spectacular.
