View from My Window: Mountains and Rolling Hills

by Phyllis Snook
(Middleburg, PA (USA))

Early Morning Sunrse

Early Morning Sunrse

I see the beautiful mountains and rolling hills of Pennsylvania from my window. I also see our vast farmland and when the crops are ready to be reaped it is a wonderful site to see the tractor in the fields and hear the hum of his engine.

If I listen very closely in the early, early mornings I can hear a rooster. That sound wakens up my day.

I live in a small town in the countryside of Pennsylvania. When the sun shines through my windows I know it is time to awaken.

I also see gigantic sunflowers in August or September and also smell the fragrance of the different wildflowers in our fields.

Living on a farm is such an experience as not only do you have peace and quiet but if you are quiet within yourself, you will also be able to view the deer and turkeys that call our land home.

Looking out my windows always brings on a calming effect to my heart.

Sometimes if I allow myself to breathe, I can even hear my sisters playing in our backyard.... a special feat I allow myself - while looking out my windows!
