Valentine Postmarks
Valentine's Day is the perfect time to send a special valentine to a pal, friend, husband but we can also use these cool postmarks to show we really care ANY TIME of the Year!

And what better way to prove it than by sending YOUR Valentine from one of a dozen love-themed communities across the nation?
Imagine the recipient seeing the postmark from Romance, Arkansas, Valentine, Virginia, or Loveland, Colorado, to name a few!
It’s easy to do - simply enclose a pre-stamped, pre-addressed envelope with sufficient postage, and mail it inside a larger stamped envelope to:
Postmaster (Town Name) Valentine Re-Mailing City, State, Zip Code
Out-of-state Post Offices should receive Valentine cards for postmarking and re-mailing by Tuesday, February. 10. In-state Post Offices need to receive them by Wednesday, February 11 for delivery by Valentine’s Day.
Loveland, CO 80538 (970-663-3010) is the world’s largest Valentine remailing program, receiving an average of 35,000 requests a day throughout Valentine season. It receives more than 200,000 Valentines annually from all 50 states and more than 100 countries. Senior citizen volunteers do the hand-stamping of the Cupid postmark, and love their work!
Valentine, TX 79854 (432-467-2912) uses artwork designed by students from grades 7 through 12 for its cancellation stamp, and the design chosen varies from year to year. Post master Maria Carrasco personally hand-stamps as many as 100 cards and letters a day – part of the 1,000 to 2,000 that come in during the period Feb.1–14. Loving, NM 88256 (505-745-3611) is a small community with about 1400 persons, located near Carlsbad Caverns, but Postmaster Charlotte Brewer says that the postmarks increase from 500 on an average day to 4,000 before Valentine’s Day.
