Pen pals: I appreciate any mail!

by Mary
(Florida USA)

I was appalled to read the submission from the person who said she sends typewritten letters and would drop someone who sent 1-3 handwritten pages. Hope I never get her as a pal! I can pack a lot of information in one page... and it's perfectly legible.

Sometimes I am not motivated to write a "novel" but I try to make my letter an experience. If it's not as action-packed as usual, I try to make it up with a little gift, articles, or something different.

Penpalling is a two-way street and not every letter received will be the "Great American Novel."

The heads up that there are those who write with appliances or who are challenged in some way is a reminder to me to give the other person a chance.
