HOW many pen-pals should you write too at a time? Is there any limit?

Wendy: No Limits...

It depends on how much time you have to write letters. Every letter should be an original letter written to that pal... you need to ask them questions and answer their questions. Every letter does take time to write.

It also depends on what you can afford... paper, pen and envelopes are relatively cheap. Then there is the stamp... right now, February 2010:

44-cents for USA letters

75-cents for Canada

98-cents for other countries

So if you have several pal letters hitting your mailbox in a week, you have some postage needs to reply to them all.

Everyone is different -- some pals like 1-2 pals, others like a shoebox full.

Lots and Lots of Pen Pals (or one)

What you need to know is that you are free to write to many people - at one time, I had 70 pen pals - now, I have only one.

Things can change for everyone. A lot of pals were my age, or older, and over the years, have died, moved, been too busy to write, or just seemed to drop away. There is nothing wrong with that at all, of course.

But, there are no rules governing how many pen pals you can have, and your main concern should be how many can you keep up with, and enjoy without feeling pushed every day to write more and more till you have no time to do anything else.

Enjoy the pen pals you find, and you will have a lifetime of joy getting to know them all. I am on the computer more, and do blog a lot, and I see a similarity to pen palling there, while not quite the same thing.

But, that is just one of the reasons that I don't pen pal so much. Also, I have become a widow, and that changed a lot of things in my life. There are many reasons for the ebb and flow in life, as you probably know very well.
