New Zealand - Hunting Area
Boar
Hunting in New Zealand has become a great sport, as well as the traditional way for the maori people providing food, for some people - like my partner and co, a great hobbie.
My partner and his 4 dogs, wibbit cattle crosses and my dog, are exceptional at bringing food home, and they love pacing the bush. From wild boars weighing 70lbs and up.
One of my biggest experiences is not recent as I have just had a baby but is still memorable. Weaving in and out of the trees 5 dogs trying to pick up smells, not to mention I was 8 months pregnant at the time. Spotting the pig trotter prints in the mud and pig rooting (breaking up the earth in search of tasty roots). Finally watching the dogs run and barking then pig squealing.
What a adrenaline rush which comes over you, any Hunter would know this feeling.
A 165 pound beastly black fierce looking boar running past with 4 dogs hanging of it, what a kodak moment.
My dog got her first poke from the pigs sharp tusks, she done great. My partner and dogs bailed it up in a creak and the common technique he uses, he stuck the pig with his knife.
Cheap dinner and reccomended to all people who are able to go and hunt, might know someone, or want to try something different.
I'd like to read another persons Hunting experience.
- For Cruelty to animals people - The pigs around where I am and hunt eat lambs and plow the farmlands.
