My Pen Pal Kit

by Lisa Flum
(California)

I came across a wonderful idea for a gift to give pen pals.

You start with a container. It could be anything from a small storage box, basket, to a plastic envelope, like you find in office supply stores.

Then you could buy some nice paper (Blank Rhodia sheets are my favorite!), then you could rubber stamp a few sheets for your friend. I would stamp about 24 sheets for a 2 page letter over 12 months. Don't forget to stamp the envelopes.
Vellum is a nice touch.

If you want them to use the stationery on you specifically, then run the envelopes through your printer addressed to you. Coordinate the stationery with a nice disposable fountain, in lavender ink?, or a gel pen.

This next part only works for US pen pals, but I like to put commemorative postage right on the envelope for them. Add a few sheets of stickers, then place everything in the storage container.

Remember that flat rate postal boxes aren't too bad these days.
