Lost Pal: Renee Philips

My name is Maureen Sheik {nee Mcqueen}. I was born in South Shields County Durham in 1950, in my early teens I had the great pleasure of having a pen pal called Renee Philips from New york city. We corresponded for a few years, and always said, it would be really lovely to meet up sometime.

I suppose like many before and after us, I have often thought about Renee over the years and wondered how she was doing. I even sent a letter to " New York Times" hoping they even had a newspaper called that, but, alas, no response.

If you are out there somewhere Renee, I would LOVE to hear from you. If anyone knows her, obviously she might have married and have a different surname now, please try and help me.

It's been about 46 years since we were in touch, I couldn't have ever afforded to meet up at that time, it was just like a dream, now, however, it's different, please help me find her!
