Looking out My Window: Vernon, Ontario, Canada

I sit and type with my tortoiseshell kitten Daisy draped across my arms. Makes typing a challenge but who can resist a cute, cuddly kitten purring away? I know I can't.
From my window, I can see the pine trees that my husband brought from his grandmother's land in the Laurentians in Quebec and planted 15 years ago when I was heavily pregnant with my oldest son. They have grown very tall and create a curtain against the noisy neighbours. Still not perfect though as we can still hear them. LOL
Looking into the distance, I can see the neighbour's garage where the neighbours like to hold family gatherings. Hubby and I can't figure out why so many people on this street like to hang out in their garages when they all have lovely backyards bordering forest. Oh well, to each his own.
The forest behind our neighbour's house is a wonderful place to walk our St. Bernard and three huskies. Soon it will be blazing in colours of crimson, brilliant yellows and oranges as the leaves begin to change. Always a glorious sight and yet sad as well since we know that another harsh Canadian winter is on its way.
One neighbour is a schoolbus driver so he constantly comes and goes with his big yellow bus at all times of day. My husband always grumbles about our neighbour idling his bus in winter, spewing CO2 into the atmosphere and how the flashing lights shine right into our living room. It doesn't bother me that much.
I tend to daydream a lot and can tune out easily. Just ask hubby when he wants his dinner and I'm in the middle of a writing project!
