Looking out My Window:
Hubbard OHIO

by Claire
(Hubbard OHIO)

Hello,

I am sitting at my computer right now, and looking out the window as I type. I can see that the next two houses to the west of us are both for sale.

Our delicious apple tree is right outside of the kitchen window. Right now it is full of apples and the birds are so happy because we have bird feeders out for them to enjoy.

The end of our street is the football stadium, so we always hear the band playing and the football games going on.

Across the street lives an elderly couple and their son Jeff, who owns a landscape business here in town. He has a lovely yard with many flower beds and a bird bath, assorted trees and bushes.

The other neighbor has a swimming pool and a dog that barks day and night. Most of my neighbors have at least 2 dogs, but we have one tuxedo cat named Minnie who is 16 pounds.

The public library is about 2 blocks from our house; I always watch for the friends of the library book sale which is twice per year. The Hubbard police department, a new building that is huge, is one block east of our house. Then senior citizen meeting place is very near the police department and the seniors play cards and eat lunch there everyday.

The mailman comes early one day and very late the next day, to deliver our mail. But our daily newspaper is in our oversized mailbox by 6 AM daily.

My husband was born in this house, the youngest of 9 children, and he is 73 this year. So we have been on this street for a very long time.

Interstate 80 is one mile from our house, so we have guests quite often who are travelling around the country. Stop in sometime.
