Letters are Like People

The question that you ask is; do you prefer letters long or short?
Well, I prefer a letter that 'takes me away'!
Like a book can take you away from your own reality or a story in a magazine or newspaper. This can be a long letter, but also a short letter, even a card. And written or typed, it doesn't matter to me.
Of course, all penfriends have their own way of putting their thoughts on paper, as writing a letter is like having a 'soul-to-soul' contact. We don't really see the other person (some exceptions of course) and we don't have all the ideas about their way of living, way of dressing, speaking or how they do their hair..
Because we only have a peak into their soul. So we are really being 'soul-mates'.And some souls are telling us a lot in loooong letters and some can touch your hart in a few words.
I think that some people just need some practice or need to find out if the other penfriend is trustable. Like in 'real life'. Give them a chance, they might get a lot of joy from your letters and learn during the path of friendship.
Also; put some goodies into your envelope to make a (short or long) letter more special. I usually do, and my penfriends seem to love it. So, I enclose some sticker, a teabag, a postcard from where I live or what I visited, a little dolly, a handkerchief... This way you can let your friends know that they are really special to you, long or short writers!
Have a nice, long pen-friendship!
