Kids Stickers - Donate Stickers for Sick Kids
Kris from Illinois has donated kids stickers, to children's hospitals for the sick children, for nine years now! This is her story.. I hope you will take the time to read it, and send her a donation or some kids stickers. Thanks! Wendy

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making another kid smile!2010 Update: I posted about the kids sticker donations again on May 1st like I do every year. I was wondering if you could update the website since you have on there 2008 as the last year I did this....just want some to know I'm still doing it and also wondering if you could include it in the next newsletter too. I have only gotten 12 donations in the last 6 weeks so it's very slow going this year. Anything to help it along. I have gotten enough stickers for 21 baggies only this year so far and then one donation of 3 stamps and one donation of $2. If I don't get more donations, I don't know if I can even send 100 baggies of stickers to one hospital. I would really appreciate if you could help again. Thank you so much. Have a wonderful day!! ✩?.·:*¨¨*:·.?KRIS?.·:*¨¨*:·.?✩
It's time again to do the stickers for the children. Last year (2008) when I did this I didn't get very many stickers. I made only about 50 books so I used the donation money I got and went out and bought a ton of Stickers and then took the donations over to the brand new Ronald McDonald house for the kids to enjoy there. I really do need lots of donations this year. My husband also had two surgeries in early 2006 and the hospital has a separate children's hospital and I took a box into that children's hospital too right after his surgery. The lady called me in January again and asked if I was going to donate this year. I told her that I was going to be moving and I wasn't sure if I was going to do the project and she said I just HAVE to do it again as the kids love it. I don't know if some of you know about this so I'm going to explain it to you.
Back in 2000, the groups that I own/mod started making sticker books for children and passing them around like a round robin and the last person would send them all filled with stickers to a children's hospital for the kids to enjoy. I received a thank you letter from the hospital telling me how much they appreciated what we had done for them, but they asked if instead of us stickering in the books, if we would be able to send the loose kids stickers to the children with blank books so they could pass the books around themselves and sticker in.
So we started sending out blank books with about 8 pages in them each and baggies full of stickers to the children. I have now in the last 9 years sent to about 24 hospitals. I will only send to Children's hospitals though and not a hospital that has a children's ward. I want to make sure that the kids stickers and books and for children only.
In February of 2004, I sent a box to a hospital in Canada because a lady e-mailed me saying that she knew a friend of hers son was going to be going there for a bone marrow transplant. The young boy ended up passing away, but I sent the box there in honor of him anyway. I would love to be able to send to all of the children's hospitals in the USA before I stop doing this, but the donations are getting smaller and smaller each year so if I don't get enough donations this year it might be my last year. I spend a lot of time doing this each year and the last few years I have put a lot of money into it too for either buying kids stickers or for postage.
Well it's time again to do this for another hospital(s) and some more sick children. What I'm asking of all of you is to send in stickers and/or a few dollars or a few stamps to help with this. The stickers can be any and all kinds, loose, mods or sheets. This is a good way to get rid of some stickers you don't care for, stickers that are childish or even teacher/reward kids stickers.
I cut them up into loose stickers and stick about 50-100 loose stickers into baggies. I usually don't separate stickers in boy/girl bags. There is no need for you to cut up the stickers yourself since I end up going through them all and separating them into baggies. I make sure that all of the baggies have the same amount of stickers and they don't have all of the same types of stickers in them. It doesn't help if you separate them, since I have to go through them all anyway and count them to make sure each baggie has the same number of kids stickers.
As of right now, I have about 100 blank sticker books that people sent to me throughout the last year. So for right now I don't need any blank sticker books unless I get soooo many stickers that I won't have enough books. So this year I do not need any blank sticker books, just stickers or donations.
If I get a massive amount of sticker donations this year and need more than 100 sticker books, I have no problem with making some more myself, but I would hate for others to make books and then I don't need them. I do save any kids stickers or books or donations I receive throughout the year too.
I have now been doing this for about 9 years and have many references that can attest to me doing this. I do not profit or make anything out of any of this. I usually end up spending money on more kids stickers and postage each year.
When I send a box to a hospital, it is about $22 postage (average). I can't risk sending the boxes media mail as some hospitals will refuse them. I did talk to one lady at a hospital and she told me that at times they will refuse any mail that isn't priority or first class as they have very strict security at hospitals. So that is why it always costs me more to send them. Since they are heavy with the books and the stickers inside so that is why I ask for a few dollars or some stamps to help with the cost of doing this. Any donations (stamps or money) is put aside and used for either postage or used to buy more stickers (like last year) if needed. It doesn't seem like a lot, but with the books and baggie of kids stickers, it doesn't fit into the biggest flat rate box so I have to find bigger boxes. If you are willing to help with kids stickers or even just a few dollars or stamps for postage your help would really benefit and bring a smile to all of these children's faces. I will take donations until August 1st. I am starting this earlier this year hoping to get more donations. I will get all of the baggies or envelopes together as the kids stickers start coming in and I will send as soon as I have enough to send one boxful.
I would appreciate any help that anyone can give to me. I can send with a delivery confirmation and if anyone would like to see the confirmation, I'd be happy to share it with them also. If you would like for me to e-mail you when I receive your envelope, please enclose your name and e-mail address inside and I will be happy to e-mail you when I receive your donation. Last summer, I received about 18 donations so if you don't put your name and e-mail address inside I won't know who to e-mail.
Also when I send to the hospital, I always enclose a letter and I put my name on there along with everyone else's that donated something. I just put Kris in IL or your first name and where you are from. So please if you would like your name on the letter remember to include your first name and where you are from. Last time I received a few envelopes with no return address or notes so I couldn't include your name on the letter to the hospital.
PLEASE pass this link onto anyone and everyone that you think would be interested in helping out. If you want more information please feel free to e-mail me below and I will answer your questions. My address is also below to send any donations that you can to help the children. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope that you have the heart to help a child out....
