Kathleen Quinn
from Macroom Ireland

by Nancy McCann
(Clearwater, Fl. US)

I was in Catholic school in New York state in 1960-61 and the nun who taught our class brought in names in a hat.

I had picked Kathleen which was great since my great grandparents were from Ireland. We corresponded for two years (I was approximately 11 or 12 years old and she was a few years older.

We sent little gift to each other and I still have the shamrock hanky that she sent me. She then moved to England to get a job and we lost contact. I remember her address to this date down the street number and name.

I sent a letter to that address in hopes that a former relative would see it but it was returned.

I am now 59 so she must be in her early 60's. If anyone knows the Quinn's from the 60's in Macroom I would appreciate a reply to help me recontact after all these years.

Wendy: If anyone knows of this family, use the "contact Wendy" on the left bar so I can get you in contact with Nancy! Thanks!
