How I Started Penpalling

The year was 1975. My 2 daughters and I had rented a place near the beach. One rainy day I bought a copy of Women's Circle Magazine to have something to read on a gloomy day. Wow!
I never expected to find penpals in this magazine. I submitted an ad to the magazine, and received over 100 answers. I showed it to my oldest daughter, then only 13yrs. old. Today, at the age of 45, she is still penpalling.
She has no idea of how many she has now, she just keeps on writing. It's her life, her hobby, her passion. She also has a penpal group of over 500 members, on Yahoo worldwide. Plus she has met quite a few of her penpals over the years.
As for me, I do email mostly, don't always have time to write letters like I did back then, but I try my best. If anyone cares to write me, I will do my best to answer all.
Love, Joan.
