Handwritten Letters

by Karin
(Calgary, Alberta)

I have to admit that although I have no problem with a typed letter, I much prefer to receive a handwritten letter from a pal.

This shows me that the person has actually taken some time and interest in writing me a letter.

My experience with typed letters usually means that the same letter is sent to a variety of pals, with only the name and other small details changed. I find this very frustrating. Even though I do once in awhile have to type letters depending on my schedule, I always type a new letter to each pal.

In my opinion, handwritten letters are much more personal and I think you can actually tell a lot more about a person by their handwriting.

I do have pals that have admitted to having atrocious handwriting, which is why they type letters, so obviously that's understandable.

But, In the end what matters most to me is the quality of the letter, not how the person wrote it.
