Finding Pen Pals Safely...

I'm a teen girl looking for another teen girl who lives in another country to be my pen pal. (I'm very interested in other cultures and LOVE Spanish!)

I was trying to find a site where you can just get hooked up with someone safely (knowing they aren't some kind of predator, etc).

I heard about the International Youth Service that lists the names and addresses of people between 10 and 20 years old. But when I tried to look them up it said they had stopped operating in June of this year (2008). So, at this point I don't know what to do.

I would prefer something that you can possibly email with the person first to see if they're compatible instead of suddenly getting a letter in the mail from someone you've never heard of.

Can you recommend anything? Thanks so much!
