Bay City, Michigan

After I wipe the moisture off my window in this early morning, I glanced across the street to see fresh snow had fallen on my neighbors yard.
Their roof, and front porch is covered with a fine dust of sparkling white crystals, and the street light illuminates the snow.
From behind my neighbors house stands an empty lot. There was a grand, one hundred year old, three story house that stood there, until it caught on fire.
The roofers hammered all summer long, building a new roof for this century old home. Inside the house was three apartments and one was occupied when the terrible fire started. The roofers hammered in the last nail, and two hours later, their work and this wonderful, historic property was burning with red, orange flames and shooting out black, thick smoke.
Now, when I look out my front window, I reminisce about this grand building, and the family that was left homeless, but as for now, the first snowfall glitters mothers natures events to come.
